BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE AROUND

Ever wondered why people around you are sometimes just sad, mad and too quiet?? Ever thought of why they are always behaving that way around you and different with other people??

Maybe it’s who they are right? Maybe it’s their nature or behavior and has nothing completely to do with you right??

How about a little self-introspection?

Who are you when you are around other people?? What energy do you propel to them? What kind of attitude do you give them when you are with them? How do you even communicate with them? Remember body language, tone reflects much of what your statements really convey.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why when you are at parties or weddings it’s all smiles? Everyone around you is bubbly, cheerful, and blissful, and celebrating with you. Same with funerals people are sad, they cry with you, they comfort you and try all they can to make you understand that they are with you in these trying times. But oh well it definitely has to do with the environment right??

Let me stop you right there for a minute. You create an environment, you create a mood in a conversation and atmosphere itself. There are those people that even when you try and try to have a blissful conversation with them it just somehow turns out cold. You don’t even know what to say next to them in as much as you want to talk to them. Don’t ever think there is something wrong with you, they are just showing you their  mood and tone, that they might just not want to talk to you at that particular time. But if its an everyday thing, well this person just does not want to talk to you. The sooner you accept that the less it hurts.

Never the less, if you want to be around good happy people, be that person too, be happy and cheerful. If you want good vibes only, then be a good vibe to the next person. Learn to stop a little and ask yourself, “would I want to be around this kind of person I am right now?” If the answer is NO then you better change, there is something you doing wrong. There is something you need to fix before you meet the next person. Be approachable, don’t be judgmental, because you will miss important conversations, people and friends by judging too much. You will never be able to love and listen to someone when you have already placed a verdict on them.

At times we feel like there is something wrong with us, I might be cursed, people don’t like me, maybe I’m not cute enough, maybe it’s because of my poor background. But at times it’s just because of the energy you extend to others, how you carry yourself. If you are always moody do you think you would have people who would want to spend time with you???

The bible even says in Proverbs 11:17 a man who is kind benefits himself but a cruel man hurts himself. This gives you a glimpse into the life we live and the life we give those around us. Avoid pointing fingers, and coming up with outrageous excuses just because no one seems to like you. Have you tried extending a smile to other people, friends and strangers even? Have you greeted and welcomed them with open arms when they came running to you?? Always know a happy place is a welcoming and loved place. If happiness describes you, you will attract just happiness and utmost laughter. You definitely attract the mood and tone you give out.

Wait and introspect yourself, “who am I to the next person? A blessing, a good thing, happiness, an angel or the opposite”? Once you figure that out ask yourself another question, “would I want to be around me?” Having those answers will help you relate better with the next person, because you don’t only adapt to the energy in the room you also influence it.

Just smile, and the world will smile along with you.

It Starts With You

Certain moments in life you wonder why your life seems to be on hold. You wonder why am you are on the same position everyday? Have you ever stopped to think what you are actually doing to change that? It all begins with you taking the first step, read the article below and get a feel of how taking the first step changes your life and takes you places you never thought you could be.

Take the initiative and make it happen!

One day looking out the window, seeing all those posh cars, women dressed to kill and the gentlemen OMG dressed like they live in a planet of their own, I wondered how people actually get there. Like have you ever wondered how people your own age, your classmates and schoolmates seem to have this kind of life so different from yours.

You stop and think we had basically the same tutors and our marks were more or less the same and sometimes you actually performed so much better. How do they have this life?

Instead of making up theories and wondering what kind of witchcraft they are using, did you for a moment stop to self-introspect? What have I done to change my situation? Talk to yourself, ask yourself questions, what have I done so far, what do I have, what do I need and what is it that I really want to do to change my life?

It all begins with YOU.

Mohandas Gandhi once said “be the change you want to see in the world”. Although life ups and downs are inevitable, you are the one person to initiate positive personal change so you can rise to the challenge and become a bigger and better person and as a result, you will become the person you want to be.

Ask yourself, who am I? What do I want in life? Why do I want that? How do I achieve it?

Personally, growing up I was that someone that wanted nothing but financial independence. I looked around me and saw how people’s lives seemed to be moving so well and there I was stuck in the same place.

I told myself it’s that one small step I take towards my goals of becoming this independent woman that will make a difference. If I don’t start how do I become the person I want to be? I looked at myself, stuff I had within my reach and decided to start something with it.

It wasn’t easy but it was worth it. It’s really funny how I started selling sweets, and amazingly they were moving so well that I managed to move my line of business from selling just sweets to Ganellie perfumes then to Avon beauty products, the list goes on.

Bottom line is if you want something done do it yourself, the great things you achieve tomorrow starts with the small steps you take today. You just don’t wake up at the top, you start from somewhere and move up.

Do something today that makes you look back and confidently say “I did this.” Wouldn’t that make you smile? Seeing your efforts bloom to greatness? Everyone has a chance to greatness, it depends if you are willing to start, take the initiative, work towards it and never tire.

It starts with YOU. Whatever comes your way grab it only if it leads you a step closer to achieving your goals. Never stop till it gets you where you want to be.

Ever felt so small, you doubt your own existence?

There are moments in life where you feel inadequate, incompetent or so small that you feel your ideas and thoughts don’t matter. Yes its part of life but what you do after feeling that way is what will determine how you grow.

You can’t keep living in your comfort zone, till when? And what does that give you? How does it help you grow? Meeting challenges and overcoming them is one of the best ways of making positive progress in your life.

Get up from that couch that comforts you. Stand tall and look yourself in the mirror. Like what you see? You feel the person looking back at you has let you down? They have not had your back and helped you climb up the ladder of success?

Now look them back straight in the eye. Tell them, “love this is not who we are destined to be. It’s not we want to be, that person with nothing to add to life, that someone who has no value. No that’s not we are”.

Tell that person you smart, you good enough, that’s how you got to be where you are now. We can’t stop now because we feel small and intimidated. We got this, the potential is deep within we just need to bring it out. Stand firm and believe in yourself, believe that you can do this.

Bring out that inner voice and pour it out. It starts with you, it starts with saying just that one word and the rest will fall in place. It’s that first courageous step you take that draws you closer to being that confident proud of yourself kinda person.

Wouldn’t you want to one day look back and say wow I did that. Wouldn’t you want to hear your name being mentioned on the great things in life? I see you visualize the goodness in that. That feeling that says I did that 😄 will push you to do even better next time.

But you just don’t wake up to your name behind good great deeds, you have to work for it. To do that you shouldn’t doubt yourself, you shouldn’t sell yourself short, you should look at the situation and think of a way to get through it.

Think of it as if you were the only person around to save the world. Don’t look at the person next to you, look at yourself. Ask yourself what can I do to make a change, what value can I add to this.

Believe you me with that first thought comes brilliant ideas and the next thing you know you got wings flying high in success. It begins with you. It begins with taking the first step, stepping out of your comfort zone and believing in yourself.

Tell that person you see each day in the mirror that;

  • Babe we got this
  • We didn’t get this far to be basic and average
  • We got where we are to keep shining and flying up high
  • We worth it and we good enough
  • We are the one missing puzzle needed in this place to make it vibrant and successful.

Never doubt yourself, never look down upon yourself. You never know maybe that thing in you is what was missing but if you keep it inside you will never know how relevant and worth it you are. It begins with you.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
